Summer Carnival
Last week we competed in the VPASSA Summer Carnival. Thank you to parents Wayne, Lara, David, Nathan, Mel and Martine for assisting with coaching of our teams. This enables us to enter 2 extra cricket teams in the competition. Thanks to our staff coaches Mrs Jetta, Mrs Andrews, Mr Griffiths and Mr Powers. The gold cricket teams for boys and girls both won their shields. The green boys' cricket team came 4th, the girls' green team 5th, the volleyball team placed 4th, T-ball team 2nd and the Newcombe Ball team 4th. Well done to all our teams for their superb effort on the day, which combined to make Kensington the overall Summer Carnival winners. Big thanks to the staff at school who assisted with taking extra students or classes to enable us to compete.

Junior Choir
Junior Choir is open to all students in Years 3 & 4. Rehearsals are scheduled fortnightly at 8.15am on Wednesdays and alternate with assemblies. There will be Junior Choir practice on Wednesday 21st April, which is the first week back in Term 2. It is expected that children attend rehearsals in Terms 2 and 3 if they wish to be a part of the Christmas Musical.
Senior Choir
The Senior Choir will be performing at the Massed Choir Festival on Friday September 15th. This year there is an app so that students can access all the songs on their own device. Please search MCF or WA Massed Choir Festival in the app store. The password is printed on the note that your child received last week and in the emailed “Senior Choir News”. Ensure you select Side 2 so that your child learns the correct harmonies.
The lyrics and recordings for the songs are also available on the Massed Choir Festival website www.massedchoirfestival.org.au
Anzac Assembly
This year’s Anzac Assembly will be on Friday 23rd April. The Senior Choir and the School Band will be performing. Students should wear their best bottle green shirts (no checked dresses or faction shirts).
